Very nice hotel stay and pub food was great. Nice drinks in evening.
A traditional pub building with a modern feel and a reasonable selection of beers (although one was not on, on this occasion). The tables are reasonable spaced and food is available - check for their times and menus. Pubs and owners change and whilst this is still 4* it has lost something of the freshness and sparkle of its peak a couple of years ago.

Work Christmas meal. They put us on 2 separate tables which we pushed together. Starter had no dressing on the leaves, long delay serving some of our mains, so others had almost finished eating when the rest of us got our food. Roast potatoes not crispy, untrimmed carrots, flabby flat Yorkshires, stuffing tasted like it was a packet mix with no sausagemeat, had to ask for cranberry sauce. The ice cream on dessert was half melted, no water on the table. Poor value for money, never going again.
Nice enough place and was quite busy when we were there. An interesting mix of older pub and a boutique type style. Can eat here but don't know the good quality as we didn't eat. Prudes seemed a little expensive but I guess that's what you get for a city centre pub.
