Yesterday evening at 5:50pm, on a Friday, my partner received a call regarding the house wed had an offer ACCEPTED on and paperwork had commenced for. To my partners surprise it was a call to explain we had been, (Bell and Blake had allowed the immoral, nearly illegal in England, action), gazumped.Buying and selling a home should be a simple process, we had our hearts set on that house and had set the wheels in motion to make it our forever home, and we are absolutely appalled by the lack of morals shown in this situation, by all parties, but mainly by Bell and Blake, who expected us to accept this news and counter with a higher offer, and this opinion is shared by our friends who we have told and Im sure it will be the general consensus by everyone we tell and everyone they tell. Its so incredibly disappointing that a company would allow that to happen, sadly we arent in Scotland where this behaviour is ILLEGAL, but we can vouch for other estate agents in the area who refuse to allow it to happen and hats off to them for not ruining peoples life plans, like Bell and Blake did yesterday, by allowing it to happen.This has made us really question the ethics behind the sale and our accepted offer, were we lied too and this third party were always on the cards to do this and we were not made aware? (Apparently viewed before is but not in a position to buy, and that changed yesterday)Why did the sold sign only go up yesterday and not when our offer had been accepted? Its absolutely disgusting and I hope that the Scottish Law regarding house sales comes to England to stop this unethical practice. You have now put our house sale this end in jeopardy and left us back at square one, thank you for that. Please thank the vendors and the new buyers for us as well. We will be sure to spread the word on how great Bell and Blake do business.
